Sam was born and raised in the Mesilla Valley and currently resides south of Mesilla. After graduating from New Mexico State University, Sam moved to Albuquerque and went to work at the New Mexico State Fair. Sam served as the Fair Manager under three governors and served as the executive Director of the Albuquerque international balloon fiesta. Sam has two children, Samuel, 35 of Denver, Colorado and Catherine 30 of Seattle, Washington.
Sam is retired and takes care of his family properties in the Mesilla area.
