22 Jan Bruce Coryell
Four years after moving to Las Cruces in 2001, Bruce retired from a consulting career of installing business computing applications at companies across the US and in Europe and training people how to use them. Desiring to give back to his newly adopted hometown, Bruce taught in the public schools for five years, followed by another six years at Doña Ana Community College, where he prepared adults for earning their GED high school diploma. When his wife of 37 years passed away in the fall of 2019, Bruce decided to devote himself entirely to helping the disadvantaged people living in the margins of our community. Besides a master’s degree in Teaching from NMSU, Bruce also holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a bachelor’s in engineering.
